Campground Site Prep

If you are going to be setting up seasonally, for the winter, down south, it’s a good idea to survey the site prior to parking.

Look for ant nests, ground wasps, and other ground insects and spray them with an insect killer.

You can buy a gallon jug from one of the large chain stores. Using the “pump action” containers won’t tire your wrist.

Include the perimiter of your patio, and your entire pad. Look in the surrounding area of your site for other nests or hills. Spray them as well as that will prevent the migration of ants and other unwanted insects into your RV.

Once you are parked on your site spray around your tires and jacks every couple of weeks. This will keep the bugs away from the access points to the RV.  Also spray the sepctic hose, power cord and any other cords/hoses coming in from outside.  Those are nice bug ladders into your RV.

Using this method has afforded us a bug free camper.
